75 the mercer hotel near sai wan and sheung wan,hong kong "after two weeks in mainland china we were disappointed not only by the lack of amenities at the hotel but also the service. unfortunately the hong kong government no longer permits bottles of water - however this still doesn’t mean the hotel couldn’t provide bottles of boxed water or be a little more creative with its solutions. in the room itself we had two small towels- no additional towels for hand, and no face towels. the shower curtain is material and a little old / gross. what was most surprising was the service. checking in at 8pm on a friday evening we asked for a recommendation for a spot to eat in the area. she assured us multiple times we would find absolutely nothing open except for mcdonald’s. for a hotel of this quality we were surprised by the lack of any knowledge whatsoever by the staff, but also a little disgusted by the recommendation. if you want a better impression of hong kong i would advise looking elsewhere." show more 41 reviews 8.3 /10 1 night from us$136 check availability
